Misha is a first generation Filipinx-American. They moved to Portland in 2017 from Seattle, WA where they were studying Medicine at Seattle University from 2015-2017. After moving back to their hometown in Colorado, they moved up to Portland to study Anthropology and Creative Writing at Portland State University where they received their B.S. in 2019.
Prior to joining APANO Misha worked for the Cultural Resource Centers at PSU as a special programming assistant. There Misha both created and supported programming for students of color centered around social justice, intercultural communication and identity development. They also work as 350PDX’s Climate Strike Organizer, where they work alongside a team to organize a sustainable movement to build a better, greener future for all.
Outside of work, Misha engages in community organizing with multiple justice and solidarity centered organizations. In their free time, Misha enjoys writing poetry, hiking, going on roadtrips and spending time with their cat, Patrick.
