APANO is launching this six month Climate, Health, and Housing Institute (CHHI) fellowship (June-November 2017) to build our members’ analysis, skills, and confidence to serve as community leaders. This Fellowship is intended for Asians and Pacific Islanders in Oregon. Content will focus on neighborhoods and communities in outer SE Portland. The goals of the Climate, Health, and Housing Institute include:
- Building a collective analysis on the connections between and root causes of the housing crisis, climate change and community health.
- Gaining skills and confidence to organize and advocate for healthier, more resilient, and equitable neighborhoods.
- Identifying strategic leadership opportunities and be supported in their placement in these roles OR be prepared to join one of APANO’s current organizing programs.
To participate in the program, each accepted fellow must attend all 6 workshop sessions listed:
