Didn’t you just send out a survey? 

Yes! Earlier this fall, we asked you to take our APANO Community Survey (which you can still fill it out here!) to better understand who you are and how we can stay in touch.

This survey is different. It’s an opportunity for you to tell us what you think of APANO and what you think is important for us to consider moving into the future. What do you see as APANO’s strengths? Where could we have greater impact and make improvements? Who else should we engage to make our work stronger?

When will the new strategic plan come out? 

We are planning an 8-month process to gather input, deeply reflect, and prioritize our work for the next several years. We are aiming to finalize our plan in the summer of 2020 and the plan will guide our work from 2020 through 2022. We’ll update you on our new plans next summer!

When was your last strategic plan? 

Our last strategic plan was released in the summer of 2016 and guided APANO’s work between 2016 and 2020. A lot changed in that 5-year period so this time, we’re planning to do a shorter plan that will help us remain adaptable as our organization and our context change quickly. Who is involved in the Strategic Planning process? 

We have an external consultant, Kathleen Holt, who is facilitating the strategic planning process. We also have a Strategic Planning committee made up of our staff and board who are helping to gather information and move the process along. As part of the process, we are involving current staff and board as well as reaching out to stakeholders like you who are our members, partners, and supporters.

How long do I have to fill out the survey? 

Please fill out the survey by November 15, 2019 to ensure we incorporate your feedback into our strategic planning process.

Is the survey anonymous? 

We do not ask for any personal information on the survey, and we will keep individual survey responses confidential. Please note that we do have several open-ended questions, where you can choose to share as much or as little about your personal background.

Why does the survey ask me about my demographics?

While gathering input via a survey like this helps us hear from more folks than we might otherwise, we realize that it has some limitations and won’t capture everyone’s voice or thoughts. Therefore, we are asking about demographics to have a sense of whose feedback is being reflected through this channel and where we may have gaps in input.

Is the survey only in English? 

We are aware that a survey offered only in English limits the input we can receive from different communities, and language justice is a critical concern for APANO. At this time, we do not have the capacity to offer this survey in multiple languages. It is a barrier we are acutely aware of and will continue to explore during our strategic planning process.

Can I share this survey with other people?
