Together, We Move Forward! OHEA Victory Celebration July 10

The Year 2013 has seen some incredible wins for APANO and our allies in the Oregon Legislature.  As a result of our listening circles and concerns from a range of Asian and Pacific Islander communities, APANO led our first major legislative campaign for Data Equity (HB 2134) that will increase the visibility of specific ethnic community needs.  After passing the House and Senate, Governor John Kitzhaber signed the bill this month!  We could not have accomplished our goals without your personal and financial support – Thank You.

With our partners, we made significant advances in access to health and improving the “social determinants” of health.  We put our values of partnership into action, and together with the Oregon Health Equity Alliance (OHEA), we hope you will join us for a community celebration on Wednesday July 10th!

WHEN: Wednesday, July 10th, 2013
TIME: 6:00pm – 7:30pm
WHERE: Old Town Pizza. 5201 NE Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd
WHAT: A celebration of the incredible victories of the Oregon Health Equity Alliance and our partners! Light refreshments provided, cash bar.
Please RSVP here by July 5th to confirm your attendance.

About Oregon Health Equity Alliance (OHEA): Oregon’s leading people of color organizations came together in 2012 based on common values. Each fights to ensure health equity for all Oregonians and improve the health outcomes for underserved communities, particularly communities of color, immigrants and refugees. We have cultivated an alliance that is powered by real stories, real people and a grassroots movement.

We hope you will join us!

Sincerely,

All of us at APANO, Causa Oregon, Center for Intercultural Organizing, Oregon Action, Oregon Latino Health Coalition and the Urban League of Portland

ps – APANO will be doing a report back to Asian and Pacific Islander communities to highlight our progress, gather feedback and prepare for the next year.  Please let us know if your organization would be interested in a formal meeting with APANO this summer.
