Position Title: Community Organizer (Vietnamese)

Reports To: Manager of Programs and Strategy

Duration: Limited Duration October-December 2017, intent to become Regular Position in January 2018

Hours: 0.5 Full Time Equivalent (20 hours/week), with plan to become full-time (40 hours/week) in January 2018

Compensation: $19,000 (based on FTE salary of $38,000); subsidized transit pass, data plan credit, paid professional development opportunities, paid time off, and flexible family-friendly schedule.

The Asian Pacific American Network of Oregon (APANO) is looking for an experienced, motivated, and culturally responsive community organizer to build capacity, leadership, and power to address the needs of Asian and Pacific Islander (API) communities in Oregon. The Community Organizer will build a base of Vietnamese parents and tenants through leadership development, political education, and organizing campaigns.  This individual will join a team of member-leaders and staff working to win concrete change in the lives of Asian and Pacific Islanders in Oregon, and the larger world.
