Position Title: Civic Engagement Manager

Duration: Regular Full-Time Position
Hours: 1.0 Full-Time Exempt (40 hours/week)
Compensation: $50,000 plus benefits: health, dental, and vision insurance 90% employer-paid, 401K plan, transit subsidy, data plan credit, paid professional development opportunities, paid time off starting at 15 days per year, seven paid holidays annually, and flexible schedule. This position requires nights and weekend work hours.

The Civic Engagement Coordinator will support the development and implementation of APANO’s civic engagement and electoral work. The Civic Engagement Coordinator will work with staff and other community partners to collaborate on strategy, messaging, and plan of campaigns where APANO is supporting or leading. They will oversee the implementation of a field program, represent APANO at various policy issue and electoral campaign coalitions, and will support direct efforts to grow APANO’s political membership base and network of AAPI politicos and donors. The Civic Engagement Coordinator should be organized, metrics-based, a willing teacher, energetic, capable of motivating and managing staff, volunteers, and data.
They will report directly to the Political Director and coordinate closely with the Advocacy Director on specific advocacy efforts. APANO’s electoral and civic engagement programs are fast-paced, dynamic, and team-oriented. Examples of the issue areas that APANO and this position may work on include: Childcare policy, health equity, economic Justice, reproductive justice, immigrant rights, democracy reform and voting rights, housing, and potential increased forays into criminal justice reform and mental health care.
