Misha is a first generation Filipinx-American. They moved to Portland in 2017 from Seattle, WA where they were studying Medicine at Seattle University from 2015-2017. After moving back to their hometown in Colorado, they moved up to Portland to study Anthropology and Creative Writing at Portland State University where they received their B.S. in 2019.

Prior to joining APANO Misha worked for the Cultural Resource Centers at PSU as a special programming assistant. There Misha both created and supported programming for students of color centered around social justice, intercultural communication and identity development. They also worked as 350PDX’s Climate Strike Organizer alongside a team of youth organizers. And recently helped organize the Portland Youth Climate Summit with a team of youth from all around Oregon.

Outside of work, Misha engages in community organizing with multiple justice and solidarity centered organizations – such as Gabriela PDX. They also engage in mutual aid efforts across Portland. In their free time, Misha enjoys writing poetry, hiking, going on roadtrips and spending time with their cat, Patrick.
