According to the artist Alex Chiu, Legacy presents “images of family and the passing down of cultural heritage in the Asian American diaspora.” The images painted on the walls are based on materials from members of the Asian and Pacific Islander community in Portland, OR. Chiu created a photo submission process and hosted two public storytelling sessions to give community members an opportunity to share context and memories about the submitted photos.
