Madeleine

Madeleine is incredibly excited to bring her passion for community building and climate resiliency to APANO! Her background is in environmental studies and biology, having learned with inspiring teachers around the world. From the suburbs of Maryland, the cornfields of Ohio, and the deserts of southwestern U.S. to the ecosystems of Thailand and the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve in Tamil Nadu, India, Madeleine has endless gratitude for the friendships, cultural exchanges, environments, and community connections that have shaped her. She strives to honor the learning she’s been gifted through continuing to connect people with the natural world and opportunities to uplift the wellbeing of both communities and ecosystems. Before coming to APANO, she taught place-based, immersive nature education programs with Portland Parks and Recreation. In her personal life, she loves adventuring outside, dancing, gardening, language learning, cooking, and spending quality time with friends and family.
