APANO Communities United Fund (CUF) and APANO Action Fund (AF) Announce Brand Refresh

Portland, OR — APANO Communities United Fund (CUF) and APANO Action Fund (AF) today announced brand refreshes to better align their respective organizational identities and work in the community. Going forward, APANO CUF will also be known as APANO. A registered 501(c)(3), APANO will continue to serve Asian and Pacific Islander communities in Oregon with resources, community events and advocacy opportunities. APANO AF, formerly known as APANO, will continue to operate as a registered 501(c)(4) providing opportunities and resources in education, organizing, advocacy and leadership.

“We’ve come a long way since our c3 was founded in 1996,” said APANO Co-Executive Director, Kim Lepin. “For many years, we were known as the Asian Pacific American Network of Oregon, although we no longer use the expansion of the APANO acronym. We founded our c4 sibling organization in 2016, and our c3 officially became APANO Communities United Fund in 2017. We’ve seen tremendous internal and external growth since then across both organizations. We’re looking forward to the future, and are excited to grow and deepen our work with community.”

As two of Oregon’s longest-standing Asian and Pacific Islander grassroots organizations, APANO and APANO AF maintain their shared mission, vision and values. In addition to the slight name changes, the refreshes include updated websites, social media accounts, logos and style guides.
