  • Any kind of testing, preventive care, or treatment for COVID-19 will not impact a public charge determination. If you experience COVID-19 symptoms like fever, cough, or difficulty breathing and are in need of medical care, please contact your doctor. You should not hesitate to seek healthcare for COVID-19, even if you are subject to the public charge rule. For more information, see this USCIS guidance.
  • Unemployment insurance payments and Economic Impact Payments ("stimulus checks") do not impact public charge. More information here. Multilingual information available on our multilingual resource page.
